FAQ

What do people ask most?

Getting started

What is WEYSURE?

An escrow service for online deals in Nigeria. The buyer pays into WEYSURE, we hold the money, and the seller is paid only when the buyer confirms they got what they paid for.

Who can use it?

Individual buyers and sellers. Both sides of a person-to-person deal need a WEYSURE account. Businesses that want buyer protection at their own checkout will use the API once API access opens.

Do I need separate buyer and seller accounts?

No. Everyone starts with one personal account that can buy and sell. Business accounts, with their own limits and live API keys, are coming soon and will need business verification.

Is WEYSURE a bank?

No. WEYSURE is not a bank. We do not lend, pay interest or offer savings.

Payments and fees

How much does it cost?

The buyer pays the escrow fee: 2% of the deal price, minimum ₦100, no maximum. Adding money to your wallet by card carries a Paystack charge that the person adding money pays. Withdrawal fees are shown before you confirm. The current figures are on the pricing page.

How do I add money to my wallet?

Top up by card on Paystack's payment page. The Paystack charge is added to what you pay, and your wallet is credited the full amount you asked for as soon as Paystack confirms. Each top-up can be ₦100 to ₦1,000,000.

How long do withdrawals take?

Withdrawals are sent to your bank through Paystack when you confirm, and how fast the money lands depends on your bank. They go only to accounts in your own verified name. Each withdrawal can be ₦1,000 to ₦500,000.

What if my withdrawal fails?

The money comes back to your wallet once, and your history shows it as returned.

Verification

Why do I need to verify?

We hold other people's money, so we need to know who is moving it. Small amounts need little proof. Bigger deals and withdrawals unlock as you verify: phone first, then identity.

What is the largest deal I can make?

₦50,000 at Tier 0, ₦200,000 at Tier 1 and ₦3,000,000 at Tier 2. These are the standard limits and can change. Tier 3, for higher amounts, is coming.

How does phone verification work?

We text a 6-digit code to your phone. It is valid for 10 minutes and allows 3 tries.

Why is some of my money "held"?

You were paid more than your cash-out limit allows right now. Verify to the next tier, or wait for the 30-day window to move on, and it is released for withdrawal.

Disputes

What if the seller doesn't deliver?

Raise a dispute. The money stays frozen until the WEYSURE support team decides, and the decision can return the money to you.

How are disputes decided?

A person on the WEYSURE support team reviews the chat, both sides' evidence and the agreed terms. The outcome is a refund to the buyer, payment to the seller, or a split.

Can I appeal a decision?

There is no separate appeal process. If you think a decision is wrong, contact support with your deal and dispute numbers.

Account and security

Who can see my email and phone number?

No other user. People see your name as "First L.", for example "Ada O.".

I forgot my password

Use Forgot password on the log in page. We email you a link to set a new one.

Why can't I change my name?

Your name locks once you add a bank account or start an identity check. It stops anyone renaming themselves to match someone else's bank account. Contact support for genuine corrections.

Businesses and developers

How do I get API access?

Create a WEYSURE account and tick that you are signing up for a business or the API, so we know what you are building. API access is coming. Test keys never move real money.

Is there a limit before my business is verified?

Yes. Live use is capped at ₦200,000 of paid deals in total until your business is verified. Business verification is coming soon.

How do I know a webhook really came from WEYSURE?

Every message carries a signature in the X-Weysure-Signature header. Verify it on your server with your webhook secret, and handle repeated messages safely.
