How it works

Money in, money held, money released. In that order, every time.

WEYSURE holds the buyer's payment in escrow and releases it only when the buyer confirms receipt, or when the support team settles a dispute. The buyer tops up a wallet by card and pays the deal from it. The seller is credited on confirmation and withdraws to their own bank account.

Where does the money go?

A WEYSURE wallet is a balance inside WEYSURE, like a prepaid account. Buyers fill it by card and pay deals from it. Sellers receive into it and withdraw to their bank.

  1. 1Buyer's cardTop-up paid through Paystack, with the card charge added.
  2. 2Buyer's walletFunds the deal: price plus 2% fee
  3. 3Held in escrowNeither side can spend it. Frozen if disputed.
  4. 4Seller's walletCredited with the price once the buyer confirms
  5. 5Seller's bankIn the seller's own name, minus the bank fee and ₦50
Worked example

Ada O. buys a ₦100,000 item from Bola K. Here is where every naira goes once the deal is done. Topping up is separate: the Paystack card charge is added to what you pay by card, for example ₦1,625 on a ₦100,000 top-up.

Ada funds the deal
₦102,000
WEYSURE fee, 2%
₦2,000
Bola's wallet after confirmation
₦100,000
Bank transfer fee + processing fee
₦50 + ₦50
Arrives in Bola's bank
₦99,900

Step by step

The most common path: the buyer sets up the deal and pays straight into escrow.

  1. Sign up and verify your email

Name, email, phone number and password. We email a link to confirm the address. One personal account can both buy and sell.

  2. Verify your phone

We text a 6-digit code, valid for 10 minutes with 3 tries. Entering it moves you to Tier 1, which you need before any withdrawal.

  3. Top up your wallet

Pay by card on Paystack's payment page, ₦100 to ₦1,000,000 each time. You pay the Paystack card charge on top (₦1,625 on ₦100,000), and your wallet is credited with the amount you chose as soon as Paystack confirms.

  4. Create the deal

Pick the other person, describe the item, set the price, delivery method and terms, then review the fee and total. On confirming, the price plus fee leave your wallet and the deal is in escrow.

  5. Seller delivers

The seller ships or hands over the item and taps Mark as delivered. You are notified.

  6. Confirm receipt

Check the item, then tap Confirm receipt. The price goes into the seller's wallet straight away.

  7. Seller withdraws

The seller picks a saved bank account in their own name, sees the fees first, and the rest is sent through Paystack.

Throughout the deal, both sides can message each other inside WEYSURE and share files.

Sellers can send a buyer a ready-made deal. Nothing is charged until the buyer says yes.

  1. Seller creates the deal

Item, price, terms and the chosen buyer.

  2. Buyer is notified

By email and in the app. The deal waits, and nothing has been charged.

  3. Buyer accepts or declines

On accept, the wallet pays price plus fee after limits are checked. If the deal is too big for the buyer's tier, they are told exactly which check unlocks it.

  4. Money is held in escrow

The seller can see it is secured before shipping.

  5. Delivered, then confirmed

The seller marks it delivered, the buyer confirms receipt, and the price lands in the seller's wallet.

The buyer needs a WEYSURE account to receive a deal.

Customers pay a WEYSURE payment link by card. The business is the seller, and its system talks to WEYSURE through the API.

  1. Open an account

Tick the business or API option when you sign up so we know what you are building. Test keys never move real money, so you can build and try your checkout safely.

  2. Add a payout bank account

It must be verified. You can change it at most once every 30 days.

  3. Set up notifications

Give us a web address on your server. We send a webhook whenever something happens: paid, released, refunded, payout succeeded or failed.

  4. Go live

Switch to a live key. Until your business is verified (business verification is coming soon), live use is capped at ₦200,000 of paid deals in total.

  5. Customer checks out

Create the escrow and send the customer to its payment link. They pay by card and the money is held.

  6. Deliver and release

Release the escrow once the order is delivered. We pay your bank account, minus the bank transfer fee and the ₦50 processing fee, and tell you when the money lands.

  7. If the customer is unhappy

Refund in full or in part, split the money, or put the deal on hold for up to 90 days while you investigate.

The business receives the price, minus the bank transfer fee and the ₦50 processing fee on payout.

When something goes wrong

What happens in a dispute? The money freezes until a person decides.

Either side can raise one on a deal that is in escrow. Both add their own evidence: photos, receipts, documents. Files stay private to the two parties and support.

  • Buyer winsThe price and the fee go back to the buyer's wallet.
  • Seller winsThe price goes to the seller's wallet. The fee is kept.
  • SplitThe price is shared by percentage, for example 60/40.
  • Rejected or closedThe deal goes back to "in escrow" and continues.

WEYSURE never moves disputed money automatically. Each person can have one open dispute per deal.

If this happens, here is what we do

What if the item isn't what was agreed?

The buyer raises a dispute. The money stays frozen until support decides.

What if the seller never delivers?

The buyer raises a dispute and support can return the price and the fee.

What if a withdrawal fails or the bank sends it back?

The money returns to your wallet exactly once, and your history shows it as returned.

What if I pay a top-up, then close the page?

Paystack also tells us directly, so your wallet is still credited. Never twice.

What if a deal is too big for my verification level?

You are stopped before paying and told which check unlocks it. Nothing is taken.

What if a seller receives more than their cash-out limit?

They are always paid in full. The part above the limit waits in the wallet, with the reason shown, until they verify further.

What if a withdrawal is to someone else's bank account?

Refused. Money only leaves to accounts in your own verified name.

What if two requests try to spend the same money at once?

Every money movement locks the accounts involved, so only one goes through.
